Frequently Asked Questions
The Naoero Citizenship by Investment Program is a government-approved route to citizenship of the Republic of Naoero (formerly known internationally as Nauru), established in 2024 under the Economic and Climate Resilience Citizenship Act. Investors who make a qualifying contribution starting from USD 105,000 receive lifetime, hereditary citizenship, with the funds channelled into the country's climate resilience and development programme.
Nauru officially changed its name to the Republic of Naoero in 2026, restoring the name used in the Nauruan language rather than the English rendering introduced during the colonial era. Parliament passed the constitutional amendment in May 2026, and President David Adeang confirmed the change that July, noting that Naoero already appeared on the national coat of arms and in everyday use. The United Nations and several governments, including Australia and New Zealand, have since updated their records to reflect the new name.
